Hi

If I delete a connector from Azure AD sync. Will the computer, user objects still remain in Azure AD cloud? Will they be deleted after a certain period?

Reason for deleting the connector: the domain no longer in AD

My environment in local on-premise AD, local Azure AD sync installed on local server, Exchange online.

    Hi @Virtual Tech

I replicated your situation in my test environment.

The users are not deleted; however, I couldn't edit the user attribute or change the user password as administrator, and of course, I don't have active the password Writeback, I couldn't change the password as the user.

Apparently, you will require an AD if you want to conserve the users.

    Hope this helps,

@Virtual Tech Thanks for reaching out. Soysoliscarlos is correct, the users and other objects wont get deleted but as a result of deleting the connector space, they will become orphan objects in Azure AD.

While deleting the connector , you have 2 options :

Both options sync all objects and update the metaverse objects. If you want to get rid of the objects, you should move them out of sync form the Azure AD connect, that should trigger a deletion in Azure AD for those objects or delete the objects in on=premises AD.
