Hello,

Our System Center Endpoint Protection has detected one malware in Outlook ".ost" file on one of the workstations.
Here is the report:

"Malware Name: Exploit:O97M/CVE-2017-11882!rfn;
 Remediation action: Quarantine;
 Action status: Succeeded."

Is it safe to use the workstation now? Do I need to rescan the workstation again offline with Malwarebytes, MS Windows Security or other apps?

Please tell me how to scan the Outlook ".ost" file for malware? Thank you very much.

Andy

    What it shows is action is taken and you are safe now.
    You may run a full scan with endpoint manager just in case.
    This is associated with a vulnerability in Microsoft Office so make sure update your Microsoft Office using Windows Update.

    Hi @Andy King ,

    Have you change to create a new Outlook profile?

    Then It creates a new ost file and you can delete the old one.

    Thanks, TKujala and Reza-Ameri! I will run a full scan before using the computer. Thanks again.
