We are trying to display AlwaysOn dashboard when we receive this message. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I am also having this issue after SSMS 18 was updated. I can no longer display the availability group dashboards on my SQL Server 2016 installations. The SQL Server 2019 availability group dashboards still work fine.
I applied the latest update, 18.11.1, today, and still have the issue.
I tried installing an older version of SSMS 18 and had issues, so I installed SSMS 17 so I can still see my availability group dashboards there.
I'm hoping this will be fixed in SSMS 18 soon!

Thanks for all comments and suggestions! Seems to be an issue with SSMS 18.11.1 and SQL2016 servers. No SQL2016 version that we use (and we have latest and prior to latest patches installed on different machines) will display AOG dashboard.

I am not able to display the AlwaysOn dashboard for SQL Server 2016 but it does display correctly for SQL Server 2017.

same as me, sql2016 AG dashboard works for ssms18.10 but not ssms18.11

This seems to be working again in v18.12.1 towards a SQL Server 2016 AG

I have opened up a post about it on Microsoft feedback portal for that issue. Hopefully someone will see that.
Please proceed to download the latest cumulative update (or service pack) for your SQL Server cluster. That should solve the issue.
Alternatively, you can try to uninstall SSMS 18.11 and try an earlier version.

II use SSMS 18.11 since March 4th, 2022 and never get this error.
After server apply update the following patch tonight (March 11, 2022), the SSMS 18.11 get this error.
Restart Required: To complete the installation of the following updates, the computer will be restarted within 15 minutes:
After I saw AlbertoMorillo's comment, I try SSMS 18.9.1 and cannot see this error.

Agree with AlbertoMorillo. However, if you want to monitor SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups before 03/21/2022, you can refer this article:

I have to wait until 03/21 for our scheduled patch date to see if applying new patches resolves the question. In the meantime, I can use your work-around to view AOG statuses. Thanks!

I know it's not ideal but you can install SSMS 16.5.3 along side 18.11.1 to get around this issue on a temp basis. I've tested this and it works for my SQL Server 2016 Cluster. Below is a link to where you can easily download it.
