I am migrating from an HA-Cluster to an Always on AG- Solutioning as the DR currently configured is DB mirroring that is deprecated and figuring with my vendor if the app is solution's to an AG move.
From DB end i am planning to set dedicated new nodes active/passive VM servers and have an AG group created and tested and during cut-over

  1. backup the DB from source HA to the destination AG.
  2. have the current HA Virtual cluster name replaced with the temporary AG name that i created
Is it possible to have the name of the AG replaced with an new name as all modify alter availability group i see discussed on adding IP, is it possible and any steps if documented will be of assistance

    Hi @ EbenEarnest-2995,

If you want to change AG listener name, please delete the existed AG listener and create a new listener with new name.
