SCOM 2012 R2 UR12 agent package manually installed on RHEL 7. On a small number of servers getting an error when trying to discover & manage:

Failed during SSH discovery. Exit code: -1073479070
Standard Output:
Standard Error:
Exception Message:An exception (-1073479070) caused the SSH command to fail - Couldn't agree a mac algorithm (available: hmac-sha2-256,hmac-sha2-512,@openssh.com,@openssh.com)

If i do a $ ssh -Q mac
between a working and non-working server, the mac algorithms are identical so im stumped.

Any ideas?

    Hi,

this seems related, have you checked it:

SCOM Couldn't agree a mac algorithm
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/azure/en-US/2acd8995-4a56-47d9-8c07-6f6ddc0f82a1/scom-couldnt-agree-a-mac-algorithm?forum=operationsmanagerunixandlinux

So accordding to CyrAz's reply you need to check the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file (Not quite sure if the command you listed does this???).

    Does this help?
