BeX Analyzer Add-in is Crashing Excel

Issue: Excel 2016 error states, "A critical program error has occurred. The program will now terminate."

History: This user created a fairly large Excel work book with 15 or so tabs, about a dozen macro's. It is housed on the companay file server. User also has the BeX Analyzer add-in installed. At a certain point, everything was working fine, then Excel started crashing with error above.

The workbook is shared with other users at the company, but nobody else is seeing this issue/error. After uninstalling office, and installing office fresh, issue kept happening. So I rebuilt the user profile, still getting error. So, I re-image computer, still getting error. So, I give user a brand new laptop. Nice of me, right? Wrong. Same error on new computer after enabling BeX Analyzer add-in for excel.

I have searched the googles looking for a resolution, Microsoft basically says "run an office repair", and of course... sfc /scannow - thanks MS... SAP says make sure you have the correct version of SAP installed.

But it's a brand new computer, and everyone else in the company is using the same version of all the apps that this user is using. So... what the heck? How did the issue follow this user to a new computer?

I have also tried Excel 2010, 2013 and 2016. same result. We have already disabled all macros to test, same result. We have also pulled the file down to the local C drive, re-named it, and uploaded new copy to the filer server, same result, error above. only the user who created this Workbook is seeing the issue, none of the users who use the workbook other than the creator are seeing the issue. Very strange.

Does anybody out there use BeX Analyzer add-in for Excel, if so, have you seen this issues and what did you do to fix it?

    Hi @PhilIT ,

    > The workbook is shared with other users at the company, but nobody else is seeing this issue/error.

From an Excel perspective, if you download this file on local computer, will this issue produced?
Please go to Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Applications, find the related records, check whether there is any information about error module.

    > I have also tried Excel 2010, 2013 and 2016. same result. We have already disabled all macros to test, same result.

It's recommended to create a blank workbook, and share it on your server to have a check.
Please make sure your server is updated to the latest.

Accoring to your description, this issue is also related to BeX Analyzer Add-ins, there may be an incompatibility between this add-in and Excel.
I would suggest you continue to seek help from Bex Analyzer | SAP Community.

    Thanks for your understanding.
