Checking mobile service with Xamarin.Essentials

Hello people,

i just implemented the Connectivity check using Xamarin.Essentials and i wonder: Can i detect the lack of mobile service using Connectivity? A colleague of me suggested to use this to determine whether network is available and after looking into the documentation a bit deeper i wonder whether the Connectivity framework can detect whether no service (i.e. not network coverage/signal) is present.

Xamarin.Conntectivity can detect the Network is available, but it cannot detect the network signal, for example, if you want to known the WIFI signal strength, For android, you need to use WifiManager call WifiManager.calculateSignalLevel method to get it

I'm not trying to detect the signal strength, just whether there's no service available (which usually conincides with low or no signal anyway as far as i know). Can i do that with Connectivity or can the Connectivity module handle this and tell me that there's no connectivity available when there's no service available?

Before you connect to the net mobile service, you can use following code to check it.

var current = Connectivity.NetworkAccess; if (current == NetworkAccess.Internet) { // Connection to internet is available }
