The transactions in Application Insights for an App Service instance (.NET 6, in-process, Linux host) is spammed with HTTP GET requests to a link-local address with a path /metrics and port 50050 every ~10 seconds. This does not happen for e.g. Azure Functions, at least not by default. What is it exactly and can it be disabled? It clutters up the log. A quick Google search turned up nothing.

Are there news or another location where i can find the status from the product team ? This not only leads to spam the application insights log, it also spam the log analytics workspace and cost a lot of money for nothing ...

Not affiliated with Microsoft, so cannot answer your question directly. I was the OP.

However, how I "fixed" it was by disabling the auto-instrumentation for said App Service instance. It was redundant anyway since my application already included the AI SDK explicitly.

I am facing the same issue in all App services deployed on Azure. Most of the fail requests are GET/HEAD with message "

Message: AI: TelemetryChannel found a telemetry item without an InstrumentationKey. This is a required field and must be set in either your config file or at application startup.

"
Can any on guide me how to solve this issue on azure or in the API it self
