Here's my problem...
House1: Win10 system setup VPN client and connects to office VPN. Works fine.
House2: Win10 system setup VPN client and connects to office VPN. Works fine.
House2: A second Win10 system is purchased; setup CPN client and connects to Office VPN. Works fine for a couple of days; but now gets this error:

The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer.

Pickup the problem computer from House2 and move it to House1. It connects to office VPN just fine.

What can I do to make this computer work inside House2?

    Hi @Frank Bax

In some cases, this error is triggered if the Microsoft CHAP v2 protocol is disabled inside the VPN Connection’s properties

-Press “Windows” + “R” to open the “Run” prompt.
-Type in “ncpa.cpl” and press “Enter” to open the Network Adapter Settings.
-Right-click on the “VPN” connection that has been added and select “Properties“.
-Click on the “Security” tab and check the “Allow These Protocols” option.
-Check the “Microsoft-CHAP Version 2” option and click on “OK”.
-Try to connect to the VPN and check to see if the issue persists.

It is also important that the PPP Settings are configured to allow LCP Extensions try enabling them and see if they help.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!
