Did this problem ever get solved ? if so, how ? .
We experience a similar issue. It started to occur "by it self" and happens only the first time a user logs on to a machine.

We are trying to set up OneDrive Silent Config and it is not signing in automatically when the user logs in. We have confirmed that our SSO setup is working properly by following the instructions in this Microsoft article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-silent-account-configuration#VerifySilentAccountConfig. When we manually enter the logged in user's email address it automatically logs into OneDrive without asking for a password.
We already tried some workarounds like creating the registry key EnableADAL with a value of 1 and 2 but that has not made any difference. Has anyone experienced something similar and have you been able to find a solution?
Thanks.

Hi @hccuser ,
What kind of authentication did you use for devices?
As the article said silent account configuration won't work on devices for users who require multi-factor authentication.
I suggest you check this information and let me know if it work for you.

We have a hybrid authentication configuration and are running into this issue as well. User acct & computer are both in Azure AD. Signing in prompts with enter password.. No conditional access.
Hi,
Are Microsoft looking to address the fact OneDrive cant sign in silently with MFA enabled? People can forget to do this an if they aren't aware of OneDrive easily lose work, its something we have had to handle with comms but that is never the perfect solution.
