Hi,
I currently use a Mac but want to try Windows 11 on a Surface Pro 8. The only thing stopping me is the automatic Tablet/Typing mode function. I wish to use an external keyboard/mouse at times I.e. not with a Surface keyboard. I don't want to use Windows 10 or to have to buy a Surface Keyboard so need I would to force Windows 11 into Typing Mode. Is this possible?
Many thanks in anticipation,
Brian

You are able to control the switching.
You may open Settings and navigate to System and select Tablet and you will see option called When I use this device as a tablet and you may select Don't switch to tablet mode and you PC always remains in the normal mode.

Surface has USB port and you may connect external keyboard and mouse to the USB port and in case you need extra ports, you may purchase a USB hub and connect your external devices to it. You may also connect keyboard and mouse using Bluetooth if they support these features. Using Surface keyboard is recommended but you may use any other external devices such as mouse and keyboard and connect it to the Surface.
