Changing domain name of sharepoint (for a mac user)

Hello,

I would like to ask if it is possible to change the domain name of a share-point. The current domain name that I have is domainname7.onmicrosoft.com and I wish I could have changed to domain name.onmicrosoft.com.

I read the tutorial and saw that the domain name can be changed using the powershell method but I am aware that this is not available for Mac. I was thinking if I should sign up again for a microsoft 365 account and start from scratch just to get the domain name and I wished there was a better alternative.

Could anyone chime in (if you have been successful) in changing your share-point name? I have a registered website called website.com and I wonder can that be used to amend the share-point name.

Hi @JasonGoldhirsch ,

Like you said, using Start-SPOTenantRename PowerShell command is the only way to change your SharePoint domain name in SharePoint online. I'm afraid to say that you have to sign up again for a microsoft 365 account and start from scratch.
