Thanks for taking the time to explain the scenario to us. We understood that you were not allowed to enable "Tamper protection" from your Windows "Virus & Threat Protection" and it is disabled currently.
Please follow below steps to enable it from "Microsoft 365 security"
- Login to "Security.Microsoft.com" with your Microsoft 365 account
- On the Left lower corner, click on "settings"
- Now navigate to "Endpoints"
- From there select "Advanced features"
- Now if you scroll down you will have option to enable "Tamper Protection"
If you manage multiple devices or If you would like to manage from Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Please follow below steps.
- Go to Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- Create a Device configuration profile
- Create Profile
- Platform -> Win 10 or later
- Profile type -> Template
- Choose -> Endpoint Protection
- select "Create"
- Enter Name
- Move to Configuration settings
- Select 'Microsoft Defender Security center"
- Click "Tamper Protection" and enable it
- Now assign it to particular user (your profile ) or user groups and submit
I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions feel free to come back to us. We are always here to help.
