Hi -
I am extracting from on-prem SQL to Azure SQL database
When using data copy tool, my additional dynamic columns are not being created.
When I use the preview data button, the views are correct.
Am I missing something here?

In Order to populate or create additional columns you created under Source tab, make sure they are part of Copy Activity mapping. This is applicable to both dynamic and static mapping (import schemas).

Can you check the Mapping in the Copy activity? If the sink doesn't have the additional columns then Mapping and Copy will skip it. Preview Data will show you additional columns because you are previewing the Source, please check mapping once

ok, can you check the value of @item().copyActivity.translator or can you try importing the mapping, it will tell you if mapping is failing

You need to delete the dynamic mapping that has been added here:
Instead of this Dynamic mapping, you need to click on Import Schemas as below so that you can check the mappings, if there is an issue with either source or sink mapping then it will show up, in your case the additional columns are getting ignored, so destination might not have those columns
