    Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to answer your question.

    By default in azure whenever we create a VM from a specific gallery Image version, it is created with managed disk. So in advanced disk selection, use managed disks is selected. If you have a need to create a VM with unmanaged disks. You need to fall back to different approaches available for creating VMs with an customized VHD etc.
