Upgrading dot net framework - 4.5 to 4.8

Question

I have planned to upgrade my project from .NET framework 4.5 to 4.8 because of the supports and the needs. Would like to the benefits of doing this and is it really affect anything's ? or is there is anything I have to notice or I have to check before to do.
