Azure Kinect simple_3D_viewer: playbacking mkv converted from mp4 fails

For the simple3Dviewer, does the input video have to be recorded by Azure Kinect, or can it be mkv file downloaded from other places? I actually converted a mp4 file to mkv, and I want to process it with simple3Dviewer, but it says "fail to get calibration". Could you please help me with that?

Recording and playback support in the Sensor SDK is built on .mkv containers, sample apps support only .mkv files.
Regarding your error, could you please share more details? When are you receiving this error? Can you please share complete error details for better understanding?

I managed to playback .mkv files recorded by Kinect Sensor k4arecording.exe, but when I recorded a .mov file with my iphone and converted it into mkv format, I failed to playback it with simple_3d_viewer or offline_processor. So I'm asking whether the sample app only accept .mkv recorded by Kinect camera. Please contact me asap, thanks!

2022-03-29T16:23:36.737+00:00 @wenxuan zhou How exactly are you converted .mov file to .mkv file? I suggest you to please try the recording by the Azure Kinect and check if that playback fails? Also, please share any error logs or screenshots of the issue.

2022-03-30T14:39:22.67+00:00 I converted using freeconvert website. If I recorded the mkv file with Kinect, it manages to playback. But when I use other mkv files, they fail, and the error is "fail to get calibration".

I recommend reading Microsoft’s documentation on its file format of the output .mkv recordings, it explains the tracks and the codec.
Use Azure Kinect Sensor SDK to record file format
Tools such as ffmpeg or the mkvinfo command from the MKVToolNix toolkit can be used to view and extract information from recording files.
It may be necessary to identify which track contains Color, Depth, IR, and so on. Identifying the tracks is needed when working with third-party tools to read a Matroska file.
