Windows powershell keeps opening and closing

Hey, thanks for reading my post.

So ive been having this issue with windows powershell for about a week now. It opens on startup and closes itself out, and then it opens and closes every ten minutes. Its really annoying because i cant game with this when it gets in my way. Ive tried

Disabling it on task scheduler
Turning off the task in task manager
Removing everything for powershell on startup
Ive turned off chrome loader and deletes it

Ive literally watched every video on how to fix this but the problem still stays the same. Can someone please help me

If after doing all you mentioned above, then I will advise you refresh your user account.
You will need to logon to the pc as another user who is an administrator

You can refresh your user account by going via:

control panel

Navigate to System option

Goto Advnance system setting

Click on Settings command under User Profiles option. It loads all the available user profiles on the computer

Ensure you have backed up all your files and settings... then you can delete your profile.

After successful deletion, create new user profile, log on and restore your files.

You should be fine now.

While it's possible that this behavior is tied to his profile, there is no guarantee of that. If it's a scheduled task that is running Powershell, deleting a user profile won't fix that.

@Castorix31 answer is the best starting point. Autoruns is a very useful tool.

I would also suggest checking the event viewer. Under "Applications and Services Logs", look at the Microsoft-Windows-TaskScheduler/Operational log. See if Windows is running some task at the time the PS window pops up.

If that doesn't work, use Process Monitor and trace all executions of Powershell.exe. If you can identify the .ps1 script file being executed, that may point to the source of the offending task/service/program.

I also had this problem for months l, did all the exact same things you did and it will still tab me out while playing. Just yesterday I finally found the solution to this problem. Go to task scheduler open the library and look for the bar that has general, triggers,actions,conditions, setting,history (disabled). Click on actions and if u see under details anything about power shell click on it and simply delete it from the file up above. If u have any questions or need help feel free to message me on discord dreams#8642

What should I do once I locate it using Autoruns? Do I select to delete it via Autoruns or do I do something else?

It all depends on the script that is being executed. Is it legitimate? That is, does it do something on behalf of some software that you have installed? Does it look malicious? You may need to run AV scans.
