Hi Team,

We have faced the long running backup (slow backup) for few servers, it will fix if i create a new schedule with the same old schedule policy details and associate this long running server into that??.

what will be the impact on this case. is there any difference will be there. old schedule have 100+ servers associated and new schedule is associated with one server. remaining time retention is same.

I see that you have mentioned about slow backups issues with few of your servers and configuring a new schedule fixes the issue.

Changing policy will only bring minimal help however you should check which machine is spending what time around data transfer to vault.

Check for possibilities to distribute the load across the VM disks. This will reduce the load on single disks. You can check the IOPs throttling by enabling diagnostic metrics at storage level.

Change the backup policy to perform backups during off peak hours, when the load on the VM is at its lowest.

Upgrade the Azure disks to support higher IOPs. Learn more here

Once snapshot phase complete, there is no dependency with azure agent on the vm and the backup, we are just transfer data to vault from the storage account snapshot.
but this phase only taking more time for complete the backup.

Do we any stream setting for snapshot and vault transfer data? how we can identify from our portal?

is it possible to increase the stream while it is taking more time.

If slow backups during data transfer to vault is the problem, you should check what is the data fragmentation on that machine and is the data churn genuine?

If you still think this is causing slow backups, you can contact Azure support to investigate the issue further.

how we can check the fragmentation on 32 tb disk? there is no performance issue faced on the server, only backup (data transfer to vault)is affected.

I understand your concern. To investigate why data transfer to vault is taking longer time than expected, we need to analyze the logs and find the root cause of the issue.

As checked, there is weekly once fragmentation is scheduled for those servers and running fine.

If you think there is no problem from your set up side then there must be something to be looked at from Azure end. That warrants investigation and that is only possible through technical support channel.
