Please check this and we can know that “The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable follows the product lifecycle for the version of Visual Studio in which it first ships.” .
For Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable, it should follow the product lifecycle of VS 2008 and VS 2008 reached end of support on April 10, 2018. To aid the discovery of the latest downloads, the links are retained currently, but may be removed in the future.
For Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable, please check the VS 2017 product lifecycle and Mainstream Support End Date is ‘4/12/2020’, Extended Support End Date is ‘4/13/2027’.
