Hi everybody, I have a problem with the IE11Win7 virtual machine for VMware.
I downloaded the rar from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/
Once the download is finished I opened the rar and got the files, but when I want to load the machine on vmware I have problems with the operation.
The message that comes out to me is "operating system not found" and I get stuck in the windows start screen with the word "starting windows". This happens when I try to create the virtual machine.
I also tried to open the virtual machine through the .ovf file without getting the desired result

I look forward to your reply

    I guess there may be some issues with your hypervisor or setup. I downloaded the IE11Win7 for VMWare but since I do not have VMWare I then converted the image to VHD and cranked it up on hyper-v and no issues.

    So @Anonymous what would you advise me to do?

    What were the steps you took on your virtual machine?
    And in your opinion, what should I select on vmware?
    I leave you the screen as an attachment

    Anyway thank you for the answer

    I just converted, then attached the existing VHD to a new hyper-v virtual machine, so nothing special. I'm just confirming for you the image was good. Might try creating a new virtual machine from the vmdk.

    I have VMWare Workstation 16 Player installed on my Win11 laptop. I downloaded IE11.Win7.VMWare.zip and extracted the files to a temp directory. I double clicked on the .ovf file, and it launched the VMWare Import Virtual Machine dialog. You can also get that dialog from File/Open and selecting the .ovf file.

    I did get this message, but I clicked on retry, and it imported the VM. It boots just fine.

    @MotoX80
    I did the same thing, but in the end it gives me this error. I have been looking for a solution to this problem for a week but I cannot understand why.

    I am also attaching the contents of the rar I downloaded, just to see if anything is missing.
