It seemed that printer update with RPC in Windows 11 Version 22H2 might cause network printers connecting error 0x00000709.

At learn.microsoft.com, I have known that RPC connection updates for print in Windows 11 has been available in Windows 11, version 22H2.

but there are some issues in connecting shared printers which has been connected in Windows 11, version 22H2 operating system and above.

If I use Windows 10 to connect shared printers which connected to Windows 11, version 22H2, the connection will be failed, and returned 0x00000709 error.

also, Windows 11, version 23H2, has this problem too. I can't use Windows 10, version 22H2, or Windows 11, version 23H2 to connect shared printers, which connected to Windows 11, version 22H2, or Windows 11, version 23H2.

Windows 11, version 23H2 cannot connecting other printers, returns 0x0000011b error, it will work normally that after I change Windows registry settings.

because of this, I have to take annoying steps to set the RPC mode back to Using RPC over Named Pipes, then take some RPC settings on client computer, so that I can connect shared printers.

Wish this terrible experience improve quickly.

    Thanks a lot!

By the way, please improve the shared printer connection experience after patched for solving CVE-2021-1678. It brings me a terrible experience to connect shared printers in local network too! If I don't know how to set Registry Key-Values to connect shared printers, I can't connect network printer after following this support page "Share your network printer - Microsoft Support".

    Thanks!

    Hello, Microsoft Agent.

If your team cannot fix these issues immediately, can you give some options in Shared printer settings in future updates, or release an update to change back default options? These terrible experience have stunned us for a long time. when I help others to connect shared printers, if I don't have a registry file, I must go to Microsoft Learn to find how to change RPC configuration value in Registey Editor, or download a printer fix tool to fix it.
