Missing On my computer folders in OUTLOOK after switching to new version of Outlook (and back)

On my macBook Pro I have MS office 365 for Mac installed. Switching to the new version of Outlook the on my computer folders disappeared. (very important for business). Moving back to the old Outlook didn't gave the folders back. The tick for hiding on my computers folder is off. The emails seem still to be stored on the MAC but the folder structure is gone. IS there any trick to get this restored or a work around?

    Hi @Egbert Steenbergen ,

    Welcome to our forum!

As I know, local folder is not supported now in New Outlook. To continue use the "On my computer" folder, I'm afraid that you need to switch to Legacy Outlook.

And when I test to switch to Legacy Outlook>switch to New Outlook I get the following reminder. It's also suggested that you could add your POP account in New Outlook.

Moving back to the old Outlook didn't gave the folders back. The tick for hiding on my computers folder is off.

Do you mean the "On my computer" folder disappeared? If so, please remove add readd your POP account to check if there're any differences.

On the other hand, you can also try to use Time Machine to restore the entire "~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile" folder (assuming "Main Profile" is the profile you are using). For more information, please refer to: Restore items backed up with Time Machine on Mac.

I have 16.69.1 on my MacBook pro. When I try to switch to the new outlook I get a prompt that says Outlook folders on my computer are not supported.

I have a similar problem. Running Outlook 16.71.1. Was using old version with On My Computer folders. I believe in an update the version may have been switched to the new version and Outlook tried to rebuild the Main Profile but crashed before the profile was rebuilt. Tried restoring an older version of the profile and it also tried to rebuilt and eventually did but don't have any folders under On My Computer like the first person in this chain. Would really like to recover those if possible - any ideas?
