Hi there,

currently I try to request the user consent but I cannot login into my microsoft account.
As the instruction https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/advertising/guides/authentication-oauth-consent?view=bingads-13 mentioned I registered a application.
Then I try to get the the user consent with the endpoint https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/v2.0/authorize but there occurs the error
"Domain isn't in our system. Make sure you typed it correctly."

Where the client_id is the id of my registrated application. The redirect_uri matches the one in my application.

And my account exists:

Did I miss anything to config? Or is a GET-Parameter missing in the url?

I understand that you are trying to get user consent but are receiving the following error:

{Domain} isn't in our system. Make sure you typed it correctly.

Do you also get this error when logging into the Azure portal in incognito, or is it only for the URL?

If you use Fiddler when reproducing the error, do you see any requests going to domains you don't recognize? Based on this blog post, it seems that this error can also occur if there is a CNAME entry pointing to a missing domain. Note that if the domain is registered in a government tenant you may also see this behavior as there is no cross-cloud support.

This error can also sometimes be caused by an unpaid Microsoft 365 bill / closed subscription, so it is worth confirming that everything is in good standing.

I just tried it with an icognito tab. Therefore its the same endpoint with just different get parameters -> I guess its some configuration?

My ******@hausfrage.de account is just new, so there should be any bill or closed subscriptions...

I dont think CNAME is pointing to a missing domain, the error would also occur at the normal login - I guess. But it only occurs if I try to login and receive the code.

But I recorded all requests during the failed login process, maybe you can get a hint there.

I am having the same problem. I am getting the "isn't in our system. Make sure you typed it correctly" error. I can use this MS account to log into the app store and this is the account my windows and 365 are registered to. However, when I try to access the Teams App (can only access the web version) or try to access files shared with me (includes docs, spreadsheet shared through MS Platforms, and even a menti slides embedded into powerpoint that were shared with this account) it is forcing login. If I try to reset the password it is forcing the reset to send any information to my university alumni account which is hosted by MS (used to be gmail). I have tried to manage this through the accounts page with no luck. In fact, regardless of which account I log into with the only details it shows is my non university email account. Something seems to be wrong on the MS side I think. Please help - I have spent hours now trying to fix this.

Hi Bob,

I never found an answer to this problem even though I spent hours with support trying to sort it out. I can access my Microsoft account directly or by apps such as Excel and Word but not Outlook.

When I click on my Outlook profile icon top right, my email address is there but when I click on "view account" that takes me to the Microsoft account sign-in page, That's when I get the error that the domain can't be found.

When I do the same for Excel and Word, my picture is there and not an icon, and the view account link leads me to the Microsoft log-in page where I get straight in without an error.

Also, if I try to install the "new Outlook", I hit the same problem.

I might have another go with support over Christmas when I have some time.

When you get the error: Domain isn't in our system. Make sure you typed it correctly

make sure you only your domain name into the login box and not your user account name.

So for you it would be : hausfrage.de

Dont enter: ******@hausfrage.de

It will then return you with the account name with the license applied and then you can enter a password.

NO, this won't work, there could be many many Microsoft accounts for a given domain.

There is a hack to work around this. It also fixes a lot of similar problems.

Log onto the Azure Portal with the unrecognised account.

Of course this pre-supposes you have an Azure subscription.
