Why Is My Visual Studio String Table Haunted?

Hello Folks:

Developing on Windows 10 Pro, Visual Studio Community 2022 Community, C++.

Sorry, this question is about Visual Studio string tables, but I couldn't find an appropriate tag.

In the 20 years I've been developing for Windows, on different computers and through different versions of Microsoft's C++ development environment, there's one task that I always dread.

Using the String Table.

Mysterious and evil things happen there. I've seen text change while the keyboard and mouse lay untouched on the desk.

The String Table behaves most of the time, but a task I started last night is failing repeatedly. So I decided to try capturing the event on video.

Here's a link to the video.

Please suffer through the 3 minutes of my stammering and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks
Larry

Hi, @a_unique_name

When I press Enter after modifying the string, it doesn't have this problem. I think it's a bug because it happens to me too if I follow the video. You can report this issue to the Developer Community and put the link in this thread.

Best regards,

Minxin Yu
