Hi All
I have come across this very bizarre issue with software updates.
I have several collections, and i use "Required" deployment to schedule the updates to install at specific time. This all works fine.
However, there is this one collection, which holds specialized windows 10 machines, mainly (21H1).
If i set the deployment as "REQUIRED" and have the updates show up as soon as possible, and to install at a scheduled time. The updates do not show up in software centre.
Then i change the deployment to "AVAILABLE". The updates show up. I then change the deployment to "REQUIRED" again, the updates remain, and is now scheduled to install at certain time.

So i dont know what it is with these specific machines, but if i set a "REQUIRED" deployment as first up, the updates do not show up. I have reinstalled the client, but does not make any difference.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks DM.

    Hi,

Thank for your posting in Q&A.

The update can be installed in specific time, it shows the update and the client is no issue.

Please check these option to see if the problem is solved.

On the tab of user experience, the option of Display in software Centre and show all notification:

If we set as Hide in Software Centre and all notifications, the update will not shown in Software Centre.

The software available time is as soon as possible, the schedule evaluation is client local time or others.

    Hi Amanda

    191174-image.png

This is what i set for my deployments.
As i said, this normally works fine on all other collection of machines.
Its one particular collection, that it is not working for... which i find very strange.
I will do further testing over the week, by adding a machine into this collection, that works from other collections.

Have you checked updatesdeployment log when you make the updates are pushed to the devices in question? Do they come up as applicable? It may be a case of a policy of a delay in how policies are getting evaluated on the devices.

    Hi,

Yes, it is so strange. Have we add the new machine into this collection? Will the update be shown in the software centre?

Agree with RahulJindal, we could check the policyagent.log to see if a case of a policy of a delay.

If the client could be receive policy, the normal record is shown in the log:
