Azure MySQL flexible server stuck on stopping

Hey everyone,

How long does it normally take for an Azure database for MySQL flexible server to restart? In particular, I clicked restart and it seems to sit forever in stopping. It's been around an hour since I clicked restart and I find this a little out there in terms of timing.

All I am doing is clicking restart via the CLI, there is no replication happening + I don't understand what would make it take so long. Any ideas?

My understanding is that stopping a flexible server on Azure MySQL Database is taking longer than expected. Please let me know if my understanding is not correct.
I was able to test this from my end and I was able to start and stop MySQL flexible server without any issues. The location I am using is East US. Could you please try again later and let us know if the error occurs again? As an alternative you can also use CLI code to stop the server.

If this still occur, then the best route will be to create a support ticket so we can further investigate at the back end.

I'm using Azure automation powershell runbook to schedule and execute a Stop and Start. In using the Test option, I found stopping took 36 minutes and starting to the "Available" state took over 45 minutes....however the start may have taken less, as it seemed like the "refresh" button didn't work. I had to click into something else and back to Overview to find its status as "Available" (Mine is in East US).

Then the following times not relying on the Refresh button, I found that starting and stopping takes less than 2 minutes! I wonder if it has to do with how long the system had been up previously?

I'm facing a similar issue with a MySQL database server stuck in "Routine Maintenance" 4 days ago. Tracking ID: 6S8C-T8G (Your Azure Database For MySQL routine maintenance is currently in progress) I've tried everything to stop/restart/upgrade the service (CLI/PS/US), but nothing works. Any ideas?

I don't have a support case, and the maintenance task is stíll running: "Tracking ID: 6S8C-T8G Your Azure Database For MySQL routine maintenance is currently in progress. During this maintenance, your instance may experience a brief interruption in service..." (brief... since Friday ;-))
