The reason can not be that MS wants you to need to devices to login, since you can login to the service on a mobile device and then authenticate on the same device.

Windows is Microsoft's platform so WHY do they not make an Authenticator app for it?

This is incredibly inconvenient and a major user experience miss..

Can this basic feature please be prioritized?

I want my kids to be able to login to 365 without having to use a separate mobile device.

I am incredibly frustrated by this miss.

I would love to see this, as I just want a backup for when my phone goes down.

    Hi KurtSteckling-2247,

I believe the reason for this is because of security and want to have the two factor authentication on a separate device. I have always believed that having the second authentication system on the same device is a bit strange and compromises security.

There are locations online that can be found via google where you can register your interest in having the app released for windows 10.
