Exchange Online Calendars in Outlook shows "could not be updated" when Accessright "Availabilityonly" is set to Group Standard

Hello ,

We have an Exchange 206 CU21 Server onPrem on which our mailboxes are located.

However, we had to migrate two meeting rooms to Exchange Online because of the teams connection.

For about 4 weeks now we have had the problem that the two additional calendars integrated in Outlook "could not be updated".

When we try to connect the calendars in OWA it works.

If we give the calendars a different right than "AvailabilityOnly" for the group Standard using the Add-MailboxPermission command, the entries are displayed. Just not for the "AvailabilityOnly" right.

But it is precisely this view that should be displayed to "normal" users in the meeting rooms. Namely Free/Busy.

I found the tip in a forum that you should recycle the ApplicationPools. Did that last week. Then lasted 2 days but now the message "could not be updated is there again

    @ChesterRush

If we give the calendars a different right than "AvailabilityOnly" for the group Standard using the Add-MailboxPermission command, the entries are displayed. Just not for the "AvailabilityOnly" right.

Do you mean "Add-MailboxFolderPermission" rather than "Add-MailboxPermission", there doesn't exist "AvailabilityOnly" for the "Add-MailboxPermission" command.

I also want to confirm with you what do you mean about "group Standard".

I suggest you try to remove permission from the Exchange side, then add this room mailbox's full access permission to one user mailbox. After that, using this user mailbox open room mailbox calendar, then shared calendar from the Outlook side. Check whether it could work for other users.

I also suggest you try to run Outlook in Online mode, then check whether you could access Calendars successfully.

    Good Morning ,

Here you can see what i exactely mean , i connect via Powershell to Exchange Online , the i use the command : Get-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity @.com:\kalender

Here u can see the Output :

    192148-exchnage-sharing-1.png

What i mean is that when the User "Standard" has the AccessRight {AvailabilityOnly} , then the Calendar is shown as "could not be updated" . BUT only with this Access Right .
When i choose any of the others , for Example , Editor or Author then in the Outlook Kalender the "could not be updated" is gone . But i need the AccessRight AvailabilityOnly because i want that all of my Standard Users only can see Free/Busy for this Room Calendar.

I try to delete the Standard User for this Room Calendar as Access Right , but its not possible .
I also try to give the Standard User another AccessRight , for example Editor , the it works . But when i get back to AvailabilityOnly the i have the sam Problem .

It must have something to do with the AccessRight "AvailabilityOnly" .
