Setting up a print server?

Hi,

So I am having a bit of a problem and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Instead of having PCL go directly to the printer, I would like to create a print server so the PCL sends the file to the server and the server sends it to the printer. I want to do this in case there is an error/ problem with the printer and it is vital that I don't lose that file. So the file would always be in the print server just in case there was ever a problem.

I was wondering what the best way is to set this print server up in 2022? (not looking for cloud based solutions)

I appreciate your help!

Best,
Anthony.

    Hello @Anthony

    There are two methods might be useful:

    1. check "Keep Printed Documents" on Printer Properties/Advanced tab. this will keep the print file in the queue;

    2.Save the spool file:

    save printed jobs to log file
    Viewing files in Print Spooler folder

    Best Regards
