I'd check the domain controller and problem member both have the static address of DC listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS.

I got busy for a while, there were no solutions many months ago. I notice there are STILL no solutions. I have two MS products that do not connect using literally an app called connector. Win 10 Pro 64 bit and Win Server Ess 2016. No backups (kind of the point of having the server) and cannot connect. I have access to the shared files on the server, but no backups.
Please DO NOT try to sell me on cloud backup. I built my server to do my own backup NOT in the cloud. And now MS has failed me. An update means all connection is lost between client and server.
I have tried everything I could find, including posts at
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/64745/why-canampamp39t-clients-connect-to-windows-2016-e.html
and nothing has worked. Has anyone found a solution that actually works yet?

Hello MarkCross,
Since you have checked the most high level solutions I can recommend checking on a lower level, to ensure that the basics for the connection are met.
Please try the next:
1). check your NIC bindings and put IPv4 first above IPv6, Ensure that the bindings are correct with the Domain
2). ensure the IP of the Essentials server is the ONLY DNS entry on the workstation. If multiple DNS servers it may lead to the problem of connecting to the Essentials server due to product limitation.
Also to mention the limit for 500 device objects (even stale records may fill in the maximum number) in Essentials 2016, and as well to be the single server in the network.
