SharePoint design clients and divisions

2022-04-12T12:27:30.603+00:00

We have multiple divisions and clients who other work with one or many of the divisions. Each division should have access to their folder with the client and the org-wide folder but not to the other divisions folders although they should be able to see that the other division is working with the client
What is the best way to structure this in SharePoint Online

So you could have

Customer 1
Division 1
Division 2
Division 3
Org-wide Common Folder
Customer 2
Division 1
Division 3
Org-wide Common Folder
Customer 3
Division 2
Division 3
Org-wide Common Folder
Customer 4
Division 2
Org-wide Common Folder

Thanks in advance for the help

    My suggestion:

    Hi @Dale Rosenberg | Services For U 1 ,

Please confirm first, do you also need to set permissions for the client?
If not, you can implement your needs in the following ways:

First,According to your description, I create a document library in my site as below, Please confirm if this is what you want.

    If yes, next
Click Site permissionsAdvanced permissions settings, then you will enter the following interface. Select Create Group.

Type a name to the group.( Here I set the g1 group corresponding to division1, g2 group corresponding to division2 and g3 group corresponding to division3).And assign the Edit permission to it.

Repeat this step to create group g1 and g2.

    Select Manage access.

Then click Advanced. Stop Inheriting Permissions.

    Assign permissions to group g1.

    192609-12.png

    Remove permissions from other groups.

    192610-13.png

Then you can see the result as below.

    Hope your reply.

    Thanks,
