I have emails configured in office 365 business basic plan. I would like to know sign in from unknown device like based on a device ID.
So when ever there is a sign in from new device we get notification over email or we can restrict email logins based on approved devices from admins.
Please let me know cheap possibilities if current plan doesn't support.

ABQ rule is for mobile based platform devices only. I am looking for device id/ restricting all kind of devices and it shows device id for registered devices in signing logs. So if user sign in from multiple registered device we can identify from which device he has signed in lastly or in case of a compromised login from a registered device.
I am not sure if conditional access provides it. I know office 365 has capabilities to show device id when mobile device is registered with Auth app or when configuring email in latest outlook versions. But problem is it wont restrict device or disable login from unregistered events, if logged in from unregistered device it shows blank device ID.
Do you have idea if it shows device id on premium p1 licenses?
About the device control, I would suggest you double confirm with the AAD side (azure-ad-device-management). They could provide a detailed introduction about device access control for you.
If you want to manage mobile devices, you could use Exchange ABQ rule to quarantine all mobile device. Then allow mobile device manually. You can also create a mobile device policy to control it:
If you need to manage all kinds of clients, you may need to use Azure Conditional Access to manage them (require Azure AD Premium P1 license). For more detailed information about Azure conditional access, you could double check with Azure AD side.
