i tried to create a virtual machine but impossible to choose a size, all list options are greyed out

    There may be some compute resource shortages currently for this region. This would limit your choices if you are using a free account (paid accounts get priority). If this is just for testing can you try selecting another Azure region and check if there is availability there.

    This has been reported as a known issue that the Azure team is working on. See here.

    Having said that, it is also possible your combination of options doesn't allow you to change the size when creating the VM. Try changing to a different region and/or image and see if you have size options. If you do then it is more likely a limitation of the region you're in right now.
