Authenticator locked

Question

I have been trying to set Authenticator up for a full day now. First the pin code didn't arrive for hours. Then, when I tried to authenticate myself, the screen for the insertion of the pin code was displayed over the pin code itself, so that I could not see the pin code, to read it, to insert it (and, no, I could not switch app/screen/tab back and forth - it was impossible to see it). Then, because I could not insert the pin code, Authenticator locked me out. Now, it automatically takes me to the screen to insert a pin code, which I cannot even receive anymore, let alone see.
