Remote Desktop Services Profile

I am performing some tests with Remote Desktop Services in Windows Server 2019.
I see I can create and use User Profile Disks configured in System Manager.
I remember as well that with earlier versions of Remote Desktop Services I could redirect the user profiles by entering a profile path in the "Remote Desktop Services Profile" in the user's properties in Active Directory or by setting the "Set path for Remote Desktop Service Roaming User Profile" option in Group Policies.
I made some tests with the old way and I was unable to redirect the user profile.
Should the old way still work in Windows server 2019?
If not, is the limitation documented anywhere?
Regards
