Office 365 default alias

Per this article. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-or-remove-an-email-alias-in-outlook-com-459b1989-356d-40fa-a689-8f285b13f1f2?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us for O365 family I cannot change the primary alias as the make primary does show on my screen and I am the admin.

Any suggestions

    There are some limitations to the primary alias.
    Note: "You can't change your primary alias to an email address that's associated with a work or school account."

    So if you want to connect a domain that have Microsoft 365 already it's not possible.

    Sorry for the lack of clarity. The question was MO365 family. Their site says you can have a custom domain so I presumed you can set that as your default send from address?
