Hi,

I'm trying to install the Cumulative Update for Windows Server but keeps on failing. It will download but will not install successfully.

I already reset Windows Update components but had the same result.

I ran sfc /scannow and had some errors.

I then ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and also received an error

I also checked the Event Viewer and found some errors:

Could you please advise on what I can do to be able to install the Windows Update?

Thank you.

    @ErnestoL
    Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

    According to your description above, it seems that the Server failed to install the latest Cumulative Update due to the corrupted OS. First, it is recommended to repair the corrupted OS first.
    We have to get a source to repair. Please refer to the below link for reference:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/configure-a-windows-repair-source?view=windows-11#use-files-a-source

    Then we could run the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\test\mount\windows /LimitAccess command to repair the OS.
    Reference link:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/repair-a-windows-image?view=windows-11

    Hope the above will be helpful. Please let me know if there are any questions or updates of the case.

    Have a great day.

    Regards,
    Rita
