I know they are working on it and haven't forgotten! But the timelines are still unknown.

There were mentions in the past that MS was going to have a solution to allow for managing the Exchange/mail attributes for Office 365 AADC synched environments without having an Exchange hybrid server deployed.
Is that still something people should be expecting "soon-ish" or is that a dead-end and people really need to go 3rd party or pay for 2019 at some point?
Is there some better link/forum to follow for the progress of it? I know we'd see it announced once released via an Office 365 roadmap item or something, but wasn't sure if there's any other publicly available progress indication.
With Exchange 2016 "EOL" in about 3 years and no free hybrid license for Exchange 2019, just wondering what MS plans are for addressing the hybrid management gap.
Thanks.
