"A valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found" deploying app from Visual Studio 2019 for Mac

As per title. Same issue as https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/562363/34a-valid-provisioning-profile-for-this-executable.html
Except I'm using Visual Studio for Mac, no hot restart. Version is 8.10.22 (build 11), Enterprise edition.
Certificates and provisioning profiles are up to date, I'm filing this as a bug, this isn't something I've done wrong.
Hopefully this gets fixed rather than closed without resolution, as was the case with the above linked question.

2022-04-17T05:19:33.797+00:00 Not sure why this was closed - I'm fairly sure this is a bug with Visual Studio, but it could be a but with Xamarin.iOS. @Rob Caplan - MSFT has any investigation into this issue taken place? It's obviously affecting a lot of people.

Thank you for reporting this problem at https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/A-valid-provisioning-profile-for-this-ex/10015802 . That site is where it will get addressed, not this one.
Note that this is not the same issue as in the Q&A thread you linked - that was a compilation of loosely related symptoms not likely to the same underlying cause, with varied details. The error on its own is not an indication of a VS bug and requires more information about the specific scenario to track down.
A recent change to Apple's API was recently fixed, although I think it shipped in this week's update. Since you appear to be running that it may not be relevant to you. Adding details to your bug report will likely help get to a quicker solution.
