Copying a row in a table and then pasting into the same table results in pasted row having different column widths than rest of table

Example:

I make a table with 4 rows, 2 columns. I copy row 2, and then paste it before row 3. It should just paste a replica of row 2 after row 2, so that rows 2 and 3 are identical, However, the newly pasted row has smaller column widths than the other rows (including, of course, the row that was originally copied).

Makes no sense. Have been using Word for decades, have never had this issue.

Here is a screen shot - cells color coded to highlight the different column widths:

    Hi @Chris Cole

Could you please tell us which version of Office are you using now?
On my test environment with Microsoft 365 Apps installed, this issue can not be reproduced.

Have you assigned any table styles to this table?
I would like to suggest you create a new blank document, and insert a simple table (No table style, no border style and other format settings) to check this issue.

To better analyze this issue, it's recommended to right-click on the table > Propertities > Table tab, then take a screenshot.
Then click Options button, take a screenshot, and then share us with these 2 screenshots.

Besides, select each cell of third row (The new paste line), go to Layou tab, check the Height and Width for each cell.
Please right-click on the whole table > AutoFit > AutoFix to Windows to have a check.

Any updates, welcome to post back.
