Hi, Im a simple user of MS Word. My MS Word terminology here might not be correct.
Id like to know if Word can do a 'reverse' master doc style, so instead of bringing data (text, pictures) in from multiple docs to a 1x master, instead data goes out from 1x master to all the 'subordinate' docs.
So I want to create a 'master' document for many (eg; 20x) 'linked subordinate' documents.
So there would be a 'main body' (eg; 10x pages of basic text/pictures) in the 'master' doc, and so instead of updating 20x docs seperately, I update the 'master' doc and all the text, pictures in those 20x subordinate docs change to what was typed in the master.
The 'linked' subordinate docs would have the main body of text that all get updated from master doc when master is edited, but also have their own 'fixed' data that doesnt get updated. Example of the fixed text; Headings; Photcopier #1 Maintenance Worksheet', Photocopier #2 Maint Worksheet, Photcopier #3 Maint Worksheet... (x20) etc, Also maybe some text and/or pictures in the main body of the document (eg; on page 4) might also be fixed (x20.)
Of course you can see this is to make any changes to maintenace docs for multiple office/plant/business equipment quick and efficient.
How to do this?
I see John seems pretty knowledgable, but anyone who might know please reply. @John Korchok
