Sharepoint permissions by folder name in different locations?

I am working on a lawyer firm, they have 9 areas and around 300+ customers. Their data is arranged in a way to show all of the customers in a folder each one but each customer has a subfolder with the 9 areas (2700+ folders). I can search the folder name but cannot apply permissions to the whole results, must be done 1 by 1. Is there a way to manage the permissions (1 set of permisssions per area) in a easy way so I can modify them as a whole by just using the name folder? Or another solution?

    Hi @Hugo Rivera ,

If your subfolders doesn't have unique permissions (Inheriting permissions), you could manage the permissions of the parent folders (your 9 area folders) to apply permissions to the whole results.

Choose the folder and click share, then click manage access in the right corner of the dialog. Like the below pictures show:

    Hi
I feel you need an example as folders:
    Customer A/Area A
    Customer A/Area B
    Customer A/Area C
    Customer A/Area D
    Customer A/Area E
    Customer A/Area F
    Customer A/Area G
    Customer A/Area H
    Customer B/Area A
    Customer B/Area B
    Customer B/Area C
    Customer B/Area D
    Customer B/Area E
    Customer B/Area F
    Customer B/Area G
    Customer B/Area H

.. and so on, they are like 300 customers. I have different permissions for Area A to H. So each customer area must be 9 individual groups with permissions to each folder that belongs to that Area. 300 * 9 areas = 2700 folders. The reason of the arrangement is because each customer has different requirements for different areas. And permissions must be changed constantly according to the needs and privacy of each case.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I thought you folder is like this Area/Customer A.B...

If your folder structure is like that, there is no easy way to manage the permissions. You have to change the permissions one by one manually. May be you could try to use powershell script, It could be faster.
