Hello,

I am using storage account of StarageV2(general purpose v2) kind with standard performance. My current replication is Locally redundant storage (LRS) and I want to switch to Read-access geo-redundant storage (RA-GRS).

I am trying to find out What will be the price difference I will change the replication? I have tried to read the documentation but unable to get the full clarity.

Can someone help me with this information?

It will depend on a number of factors, such as which Azure region you are using (primary region), namespace access tier etc.

The pricing can be be found here https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/storage/blobs/ and then you can use the filters to select the details required.

Generally you should find the costs will be more than double as you are now paying for storage in two Azure regions with read access.

@Shubham Mehta Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, Thank you for posting your query here!

Adding more information to the above response! You can use Azure Pricing calculator for Price difference between LRS and RA-GRS of storage account (estimate/charges) and based on your region and requirements.

There will be a one-time fee equal to the sum of all data multiplied by the geo-replication fee in the primary region. For data stored in the Archive tier, there will also be a charge to read all the data (both read operations per 10,000 blobs and for data retrieval per GB) from the primary region and to write all the data (write operations per 10,000) into the secondary region.

Note: . RA-GRS is an option on top of GRS. So, the regions defined for GRS are the same for RA-GRS

If you still find any difficulties, I would recommend to contact Azure Billing Team, Billing and Subscription team would be the best to provide more insight and guidance on this scenario: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/options/ (it's free support. )

Please let us know if you have any further queries. I’m happy to assist you further.
