hi,
i am receiving the above error in Exchange 2016 Cu22 for SMTP relay where our internal application is sending an email to external.
not sure what could be the problem. it is intermittent.
any suggestions towards resolution is appreciated.

When this issue occurs, does it also affect normal internal and external emails (which are not sending from the application)?
Please turn on Protocol logging on the SMTP relay receive connector and see if you can get some information when the issue occurs.
