edge file saves

i have a website when opened it edge is a learning portal
if I click on a link the pdf opens but the file is downloaded and saved to the users downloads folder not the appdata edge temp folder that gets blown away every time you open edge

this is the same for any file on this site some are mp4 and some are pdf's

I don't want to download it forever I just wat to download while i'm watching the video or reading the pdf when I close and open edge I don't want those files anymore

it used to work as such

did I miss something

    Hi @mike cope ,

    If you need to open office file inside Edge instead of download them, you can try to enable this feature in Edge:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge
    2. Navigate to edge://settings/downloads.
    3. Find the option Open Office files in the browser and enable it. Regards,
