From Office 365 E3 licenses to Microsoft 365 E3 licenses

Dear all,

Currently we have Office 365 E3 licenses. We are switching to Microsoft 365 E3 next month.
Which would be the best way to perform the upgrade without impacting our users ?

Would it be possible to add more than one license to an user ? If that would be a valid option, then we could add the new Microsoft 365 E3 license to the user, and later remove Office 365 E3 license. Is this a valid plan ?

    You can replace the license assigned to users; that will take care of removal of O365E3 and adding M365E3 in one step.
