Hello, thanks for your patience while making inquiries. Other languages are under private preview. If you use the API, yes you can switch language codes by yourself, but if you want to use the Speech portal for other languages, we'd need to white list your subscription. You can can proceed with the use of the new locales, but it's currently in private preview. Hope this helps.
Arabic Language Pronunciation Assessment
Good morning -
I've had the opportunity to play around with this Pronunciation Assessment example here: https://github.com/Azure-Samples/Cognitive-Speech-TTS/tree/master/PronunciationAssessment.
I would like to leverage this in an academic context specifically for Arabic Language pronunciation assistance.
The examples are amazing. I was able to plug-in Arabic language codes in my eastus region and try out the features.
However, the support docs do not indicate that Arabic is officially supported for this language/region. (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-in/azure/cognitive-services/speech-service/language-support?tabs=pronunciation)
Can someone help me understand if I can proceed on the basis of the Github example? I have a faculty member who is very excited to build some tools to use for her students.
Thank you!
