Excel Issue with saving, losing connection

Hi -

An end user has been working with a spreadsheet for months with no issues. She adds a new worksheet every week and adds in stats for that week for the work sheet. The summary worksheet is then edited each week to include a summary of all the information for the last 4 weeks.

This week, she went to copy 3 columns (3 weeks) and move them over to the first column but when she pastes, Excel will show "Saving" at the top and never saves. Eventually a message appears at the top "Reconnecting to server as soon as the connection is restored, we'll complete your last actions". It never ends up saving and and a generic error populates.

This sheet contains stats for several employees so each row is an employee's stat for a location. There are about 20 rows per employee. This ONLY occurs on one particular employee and no other employees. If we only copy half or so of the 20 rows and paste, no issues. We seem to narrow it down to the last 10 rows. Nothing is different from rows that work to rows that don't. Formulas are all the same and there is no odd data in the rows, just numbers. We have even tried to remove formulas for this section which did not fix it.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks

    Hi @BmoreOs ,
Where did you save the file?
How did you open the file, from Excel desktop or Excel online web?
I suggest you check the Firewall and Antivirus software, try to disable them.

    Hi @Emi Zhang-MSFT -

Thanks for helping. This file is on the end user's OneDrive. We opened it within the web and via the desktop application. Antivirus was shutdown, along with the firewall and 3 different browsers were used in private mode. We also had 3 different users try with the same file, same results. That would eliminate a single user issue and the Windows Credential.

    Thanks

    Hi @Emi Zhang-MSFT -

I believe I found the issue. The rows that have the issue, I went to conditional formatting - Manage Rules and there is a longggggg list of duplicate conditional formatting rules listed there. I cleared those rules and everything works as normal now. What would cause those duplicate rules?

    Thanks
