I have a data set (budgetary planning data) that I need to chart out and measure a department's actual spending against planned spending by Fiscal Month. I need to create a monthly visualization of these two types of spending against their target spending rates. Below is a sample of the data table how it shows in Power BI and how I need it to show. Any assistance is appreciated: Total Available to Spend - $2,000,000 (not shown below).
How Power BI is showing:
Month Name | Planned Spending | Planned Spend % | Actual Spending | Actual Spending % | Target %
OCT $100,000 5% $50,000 3% 8%
NOV $450,000 23% $500,000 25% 17%
DEC $50,000 3% $50,000 3% 25%
JAN $1,000,000 50% $1,000,000 50% 33%
FEB $0 0% $0 0% 42%
MAR $0 0% $0 0% 50%
APR $300,000 15% $300,000 0% 58%
MAY $0 0% $0 0% 67%
JUN $0 0% $0 0% 75%
JUL $0 0% $0 0% 83%
AUG $0 0% $0 0% 92%
SEP $300,000 5% $300,000 5% 100%
What I need it to show is:
Month Name | Planned Spending | Planned Spend % | Actual Spending | Actual Spending % | Target %
OCT $100,000 5% $50,000 3% 8%
NOV $550,000 28% $550,000 28% 17%
DEC $600,000 30% $600,000 30% 25%
JAN $1,600,000 80% $1,600,000 80% 33%
FEB $0 80% $0 80% 42%
MAR $0 80% $0 80% 50%
APR $1,900,000 95% $1,900,000 95% 58%
MAY $0 95% $0 95% 67%
JUN $0 95% $0 95% 75%
JUL $0 95% $0 95% 83%
AUG $0 95% $0 95% 92%
SEP $2,000,000 100% $2,000,000 100% 100%
I cannot figure out what DAX measure I would have to create to be able to get the monthly cumulative by fiscal month.
